Job Description:

WWMT/ARC West Michigan/wwmt.com has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Producer with Assignment Desk duties. We want to offer digital and social users' coverage they care about, the kind that impacts their lives and which they cannot find anywhere else. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day content on our digital platforms, along with the ability to find content, gather information on stories, make calls/confirm info/help set up interviews if needed and move crews strategically. In this position, you will work with management and staff to generate and write stories and develop content for multiple platforms.
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• 
  
• Solid news judgment
  
• Be a compelling and accurate writer
  
• Solid understanding of AP style writing
  
• Ability to find and develop engaging and relevant content for our digital and social media platforms
  
• Be able to multitask and manage time in order to complete assignments
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  
• Strong oral and written communication skills
  
• Assist in the efficient operations of the assignment desk
  
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must
  
• Experience with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems such as iNews, a plus
  
  
  Experience Required:
  
  • 
    
  • Must have at least some previous digital content news producing experience at a commercial media station, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
    
  • Degree in Journalism or related field preferred
