• Certification Details
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only, not required for Med Techs
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA only
• Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics or American Medical Learning Center acceptable
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - required for ER positions at Battle Creek
• Tech Cert Verification - National, for Med Techs to be certified either by ASCP, AMT, or equivalent
• HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement

  • Ratios 1:6 at Night; 1:5 at Days
  • Focus on constant reassessment of readiness of patient for discharge
  • This unit will be rapidly admitting and discharging patients
    • Job Requirements
    • Michigan RN License
    • BLS (AHA)
    • Minimum 1 year Required
      • Schedule Information
      • Floating Requirement: Will float to other Med Surg units
      • Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend
      • Cannot guarantee/approve block scheduling at this time
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Staffing Ratio 1:5-6 for nights on Med Surg units
        • Ratios may flex to 8 patients but RN will be paired with LPN for support
        • Variety of staff work on this unit and other Med/Surg units
          • Additional Details
          • Must be willing to work with a variety of staff (i.e., RN, LPN, Techs, etc.)
